Left really early from the caravan park. No one gets up early in the parks. The drive from Mt Isa to Cloncurry was really pretty. Very similar to Karratha.
We turned left at Cloncurry going where we hadn't been before. the road and rest spots were really good up to Burke and Wills Roadhouse. After that it all changed . The road turned into a one lane road with big drop offs on the side. It was a bit hairy sometimes passing cars and trucks. It was good to stop for a lunch break just to get off the road. The condition of the road was terrible having been dug up in
the wet season. I was so glad to get close to Normanton again when the road turned into 2 lanes again.
We also saw a few brolgas along the way. The were a few billabongs which made it pretty.
The drive from Normanton to Karumba was interesting because it was fairly barren. You would never know you were by the sea because it looked like brown paddocks. Found our caravan park . It was near where all the cars were parked with their boat trailors on the back. The weather had finally turned nice so it was around 27 when we got here and not wind. Apparently it hasn't been good for fishing here because of that. Settled into a great spot and walked down to watch another sunset. Early to bed as it was an exhausting day.
