Daley Waters to Mt Isa

The days and nights from Daley Waters have been very cold. The nights down to 4 degrees. Days only reaching 19 so the jumpers are out. We have been travelling with a pretty big headwind so stopping at all the petrol stations. They certainly get you. Barkley Homestead charged $1.98 a litre. On the way down to Three Ways there were so many caravans heading north. Everyone wants to head to the warmth. We even passed 12 huge trucks taking the Super 8 cars up to Darwin for the racing. They were an impressive sight.
We free camped near Barkley. Great little spot. No flies this time but lots of water behind us.

We passed the Queensland border about lunch time. From there we seemed to get hit with rocks everytime someone passed us. One eventually caused enough damage to start ringing places to get a new winscreen  fitted. We had so many patches over the windscreen trying to hold it together. Spent an hour in Camoowheel trying to contact someone in Mt Isa. The closer we got to Mt Isa the prettier the scenery got. A few hills again.
